If you just try it the normal way the ends are pretty obvious since you have chain spaces in between and the yarn just sticking out there saying "here I am!" This is how I did it for my most recent pattern, in a way that doesn't show as much.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3FE6mxIYChwjz3Fabo6a5klFrc40BJcshkyJuAp95fbxrYUiy57VO0-HaiB3yV-6ta2FQeieIQdnEHDOpQ9vf3yofAkbhQIInaqtxVjPpdy4By1v-oSKUMsOQh6Cmop14pl42Ii5Jy34/s1600/100_0528.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3FE6mxIYChwjz3Fabo6a5klFrc40BJcshkyJuAp95fbxrYUiy57VO0-HaiB3yV-6ta2FQeieIQdnEHDOpQ9vf3yofAkbhQIInaqtxVjPpdy4By1v-oSKUMsOQh6Cmop14pl42Ii5Jy34/s320/100_0528.JPG" /></a></div><br />
Its probably often frowned upon to weave more than one end in at a time but since weaving in ends is such a pain in the first place, I really don't care especially when there are color changes for every row. Typically I would have just carried the color along the wrong side of my work, but in this case I wanted my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/color-wave-skirt">Color Wave Skirt</a> to be able to grow in length a little bit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf31uOIyW9fJhQJbmOqsBeNz-jqbNSo8QEJWRVVJu8QG1sug94VFsRkl0uQUSiazdpI3JzJLE2_7jLghkxsTZKnlryATHBwbjTO1ekQ8_tZ3uyGmJTOyxEFD-P4umDpQlI2Pkd0c3pFbA/s1600/100_0531.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf31uOIyW9fJhQJbmOqsBeNz-jqbNSo8QEJWRVVJu8QG1sug94VFsRkl0uQUSiazdpI3JzJLE2_7jLghkxsTZKnlryATHBwbjTO1ekQ8_tZ3uyGmJTOyxEFD-P4umDpQlI2Pkd0c3pFbA/s320/100_0531.JPG" /></a></div><br />
So since there is a color change at every row, I went ahead and threaded my yarn needle with both colors that were right next to each other (I tend to make a soft knot when I change colors so nothing comes loose), and before there is a double crochet stitch to weave into, there is a gap from a ch-1 space, and since I was working into the ch-1 spaces there is an unworked double crochet stitch. Instead of skipping straight over to the next bottom loops of the dc to weave into, you're going to insert your needle into the loop from the lower unworked dc.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV_r-HW4M_RNDQGGIf0b0hbI_qzY-VlimwHCoV9IYVMGGTJkSPJ9cPr4Fgy6m_0nGjJeV_tRUSO10iNz2M8X-udsFVw-UnLFezAqlgnxsYFEoQdcbfABCGPlrFrKVXYFBBj5NjsYwzHDQ/s1600/100_0533.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV_r-HW4M_RNDQGGIf0b0hbI_qzY-VlimwHCoV9IYVMGGTJkSPJ9cPr4Fgy6m_0nGjJeV_tRUSO10iNz2M8X-udsFVw-UnLFezAqlgnxsYFEoQdcbfABCGPlrFrKVXYFBBj5NjsYwzHDQ/s320/100_0533.JPG" /></a></div><br />
See where my horrible polish chipped finger is pointing? Continue as you normally would weaving the needle through the bottom loops of the stitches as well as the top loop that is showing from the stitches that weren't worked into.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW_zsCgRDyZH20W6k93Ca9nUxJNWBJoWfnWP2OeVX4B7gTPG3WKdPLzut_UtmHmnQZmx_GtzyVg_mVGOLZvKavNKtQI1U_XguhFfY02W1z31rGuoFUN1hBON9D-oZ96Jk1rdI5xtYtroc/s1600/100_0534.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW_zsCgRDyZH20W6k93Ca9nUxJNWBJoWfnWP2OeVX4B7gTPG3WKdPLzut_UtmHmnQZmx_GtzyVg_mVGOLZvKavNKtQI1U_XguhFfY02W1z31rGuoFUN1hBON9D-oZ96Jk1rdI5xtYtroc/s320/100_0534.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDacMsuDzSZHzOo3QY5_zW0oDRdlaqLda3c_M3Dfwh7EDLb74gOYsNv5yOss-9b69z4OD3b1awgvmOTRMJ1y9N8aztkTUwp8h8C6Hhzp76HgdC3JrdXela9fF3yliNtdMt4a5NdXsIZ5k/s1600/100_0535.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDacMsuDzSZHzOo3QY5_zW0oDRdlaqLda3c_M3Dfwh7EDLb74gOYsNv5yOss-9b69z4OD3b1awgvmOTRMJ1y9N8aztkTUwp8h8C6Hhzp76HgdC3JrdXela9fF3yliNtdMt4a5NdXsIZ5k/s320/100_0535.JPG" /></a></div><br />
I normally weave through about 4 or 5 stitches, so here it is through the bottom loops and the top unworked loops ending with the bottom loops of a stitch. Now pull it through.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjjRVsRZMfB_FornJO2TI_gwh4MuvUiE2V2ufhIyUNmWxi5ag5KPRul0yyWE70GLhVouOiosV729wGwoHLnF21Jod_65OY8LEzskuNfzERJV0xRrlJiRy2nPSslmjdZupNB5FGHoN8Vzg/s1600/100_0536.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjjRVsRZMfB_FornJO2TI_gwh4MuvUiE2V2ufhIyUNmWxi5ag5KPRul0yyWE70GLhVouOiosV729wGwoHLnF21Jod_65OY8LEzskuNfzERJV0xRrlJiRy2nPSslmjdZupNB5FGHoN8Vzg/s320/100_0536.JPG" /></a></div><br />
Turn your needle over and skipping over that last loop you just pulled your ends through, weave it back through all the same loops. It should go through them with ease now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfDwaeBimAgqvf7z42SX9jX2lpeZ5sNoPq4pcDC8Voyn0miSZJ1A5vUvg5ffTD7P1ZiMOzIl9TlQlCeCKAQQ7za_L_QU-WQAC6PgLqDeOwgoMxCIlOjeyS-Bc84zdZU-yBvOCMTrLMZTI/s1600/100_0537.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfDwaeBimAgqvf7z42SX9jX2lpeZ5sNoPq4pcDC8Voyn0miSZJ1A5vUvg5ffTD7P1ZiMOzIl9TlQlCeCKAQQ7za_L_QU-WQAC6PgLqDeOwgoMxCIlOjeyS-Bc84zdZU-yBvOCMTrLMZTI/s320/100_0537.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEBBJSq5RYPMDmyy57Bw2UQ4kQJ9OPm47bY-tbCmhHuPN1EkQZ8SEskJdhxPDYqnxKbgfsZoxITaJeP616BRmcvflu6CfKrKQbnY0uKvtmhDV8U3BPgE3mmFqbxLJJEfk6kETeCjCTwrE/s1600/100_0538.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEBBJSq5RYPMDmyy57Bw2UQ4kQJ9OPm47bY-tbCmhHuPN1EkQZ8SEskJdhxPDYqnxKbgfsZoxITaJeP616BRmcvflu6CfKrKQbnY0uKvtmhDV8U3BPgE3mmFqbxLJJEfk6kETeCjCTwrE/s320/100_0538.JPG" /></a></div><br />
Now pull it taut ( but not too tight or else it will feel like there is a knot there and it will bunch the stitches together) and snip of the ends.<br />
<br />
No where near as noticeable is it?! <br />
<br />
Just be sure to weave your ends in on the wrong side of your work.<br />

<br />
This is just a test run to see how many people want to get involved in the group, but my plan ultimately is to host crochet-a-longs that will require a pattern purchase of which I will use those funds to give out awesome prizes such as yarn and hooks!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15557616748753607847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984467257881905126.post-78257308522231696992014-03-11T08:39:00.001-07:002014-03-11T08:39:40.068-07:00Yarn ADDSo I have a terrible habit of starting a design, bragging about it and then never finishing! Either I get bored working with just one color or working the same stitch over and over and over again. Anyone else have this?? I'm officially coining the term Yarn ADD, in my case it would be Crochet ADD but im sure knitters have the same problem at times. These are all projects that I plan to finish eventually if I don't feel compelled to just completely frog it out of frustration, then hide the yarn in a dark place so that I don't have the reminder of my lack of will to finish something.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRMTFG2Q7XovIWR3lNIeHkhigXP13KiC4WnQJqyL2tq9k_HcCm_4mtZjBYFxl1WSSIiOi8tVzZRcPrAS6YsYLJXVIIGqdYzYYbA3P6wMBnm1pdZAOBDNX05kqmXCToh97_6ntXEbpQTjE/s1600/100_0507.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRMTFG2Q7XovIWR3lNIeHkhigXP13KiC4WnQJqyL2tq9k_HcCm_4mtZjBYFxl1WSSIiOi8tVzZRcPrAS6YsYLJXVIIGqdYzYYbA3P6wMBnm1pdZAOBDNX05kqmXCToh97_6ntXEbpQTjE/s400/100_0507.JPG" /></a><br />
<br />
This is my most recent "go to time-out" project. I wanted to make my 3-yr-old lots of pretty little dresses to play in and my first thought was a tiered or a layered dress. Cute idea, right? Wellllll, the cotton yarn I chose to work made it way too heavy and thick and frumpy. So I frogged it once and tried it again, and still too frumpy! Im thinking I will just frog the layers and make the skirt in just one layer. I will revisit the tiered dress with a much lighter yarn later. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4geEr4ZpTNUAf4ZQcEM9sXlZ3D1tqLfJkpmZ0lfmIMr91Y3kpMhSYE4miIpKZbfBMa97Ihc4mcDdIESmjiu4MKYP2x_vb5MQ1j84yjpeOwzFj3IacoWNGvVdKfdOWEKUuJBrQRXZPlXQ/s1600/100_0506.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4geEr4ZpTNUAf4ZQcEM9sXlZ3D1tqLfJkpmZ0lfmIMr91Y3kpMhSYE4miIpKZbfBMa97Ihc4mcDdIESmjiu4MKYP2x_vb5MQ1j84yjpeOwzFj3IacoWNGvVdKfdOWEKUuJBrQRXZPlXQ/s400/100_0506.JPG" /></a><br />
<br />
Number Two on the list is my thread dress! Now this isn't an angry UFO that I put aside but I sort of got a designer's block. As with most of my thread projects they take quite a long time and using Size 10 thread tends to rough on my fingers. This is something I will be revisiting very soon given that I can stay focused on it! Cotton thread is my absolute favorite thing to work with, but I do have a problem of creating something that I can't wear! I always make garments to fit me but unless I feel like getting dressed up in high-heels to go grocery shopping with toddlers its really kind of useless to me. I may just do that anyway!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBXZmqDPJMX1WcsRkifQuVsaH1dnKZ_SH7b4g6LJ1HGBkpo4a93chFnzGVIfiLpeFowE34oX2MMbG3MMxp4_afNFX8lZGL9fF8Roi4KJW0Nr1L0MjmZ-onfgSEw-o5dzDfOb8kmmrFWNY/s1600/100_0503.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBXZmqDPJMX1WcsRkifQuVsaH1dnKZ_SH7b4g6LJ1HGBkpo4a93chFnzGVIfiLpeFowE34oX2MMbG3MMxp4_afNFX8lZGL9fF8Roi4KJW0Nr1L0MjmZ-onfgSEw-o5dzDfOb8kmmrFWNY/s400/100_0503.JPG" /></a><br />
<br />
Number Three has been in time out for months!! This was my plan for a long winter skirt that actually had stitches tight and thick enough that wouldn't be much need for a slip underneath. I got really bored with the same dc, dc, dc, dc over and over with the occasional post stitches. Not only that but with the stitches rotating around I was getting confused as to how I was going to do the pattern grading. It may be something I will have to frog up to the waistband and make it more suitable for spring or summer.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqm7bvJvaN-OfpYnlZtAr4fHqRjIrZ-Ae3QhUqU5960x2TGoal1z2iLWVzFp6jqRqRtlXY0GVmTdTbL2hWjVM-KXwQtA-3ypGCrvj88pwkDD40pOwmYDT7L_v5RPIVSuFpdzgNnqeaUik/s1600/100_0501.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqm7bvJvaN-OfpYnlZtAr4fHqRjIrZ-Ae3QhUqU5960x2TGoal1z2iLWVzFp6jqRqRtlXY0GVmTdTbL2hWjVM-KXwQtA-3ypGCrvj88pwkDD40pOwmYDT7L_v5RPIVSuFpdzgNnqeaUik/s400/100_0501.JPG" /></a><br />
<br />
So in honor of my inability to finish anything that just doesn't peak my interest anymore I am creating a ADD blanket! My goal is to make every round different in color and stitch! It may be a while before its finished but it will absolutely be a huge pattern. Im only 18 rnds in and trying to decide what to do next. I may stop working in rounds and do something different and crazy!! This is definitely something I would like to put into a CAL once I'm finished with it!<br />
<br />
<br />
Check out my patterns page for free ones ( my collection is small but growing!) and visit my page <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/High-Strung-Designs/185170568229834?ref=hl">High Strung Designs</a> for a future CAL I will be hosting! It will be a trial run so the first one or two will be from free patterns but if those are successful I will be using other patterns from my shops! I plan on giving away a gift for whoever does the best recreation of my designs!! <br />
Amazing what you can do with yarn!!! I finally finished my art piece for the "Starry, Starry Night" event at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts. It will be auctioned off to help raise funds for the arts center :) All I did was find a picture of Munch's "The Scream" (commonly mistaken for being a Van Gogh), roughly sketched it out on an 8x8 piece of paper and started crocheting! The piece I did last year was 6x6 and was mainly all in thread, this one actually has some worsted cotton, some light worsted acrylic and some size 3 and 10 cotton thread. It was slightly more challenging with more color changes than last year's, but I didn't weave in all the ends like I normally would have. It looked very lumpy and misshapen until I got it stretched out over the wooden canvas. I had many doubts that it would resemble the painting at all but once it was stretched out, pinned down and glued in place I was like "Hey, not too bad!" <br />

Im currently in between a fabulous dress in size 10 thread, and a rendition Van Gogh's "The Scream" that will be donated and auctioned off at a local arts center. Will be posting up progress pics soon! Last year I did "Starry, Starry Night" and was so sad to see it go but it was such a blast to watch people bidding on it. Some people tend to forget that crochet is art and not just old ladies sitting around making afghans. While I hardly have the patience to make a blanket I still think it should be considered a work of art considering how much time and effort gets put into it!<br />

I haven't been on here much lately but Ive been super busy! I have been trying to get as many hats made as I can to send to a friend who is running a charity for the homeless. Above is the link to the FREE pattern I quickly put together for the hats I'm making. Its very basic and easy, so perfect for a beginner. <br />
<br />
This is the link to my friends blog, and she has the most heartwarming stories, not only is she giving to the Homeless, she is getting to know them and learn their stories. <br />

Please check out her blog and/or Facebook Page! <br />
<br />
I have many new crochet ideas stored up in my brain that I cannot wait to get the chance to execute them! I went yarn shopping yesterday (shamefully) and stood in the aisle staring at the colors thinking how much I love those blankets with the faded colors. So why not a skirt?! I contemplated for an eternity which colors to choose and finally piled 8 skeins of yarn into my cart ranging from black, dark grey, light grey, and white. I doubt it will be rippled so it doesn't look like im wearing my grandmothers blanket as a skirt, but I do have a fun idea for a stitch to use! <br />
<br />
Well, Ive got to get back to my hats so Happy Hooking!!<br />

In this day and age you typically dont see many people with pretty little doilies laying on their coffee tables and as a mother of two little ones there is no safe place for one. Here I will show you a really simple and modern way to make some use of these beautiful works of art! <br />
<br />
You don't have to be a crocheter to do this either! You can purchase doilies at craft shops or if you do crochet you can take your pick.<br />
<br />
All you need:<br />
<br />
A framed painter's canvas<br />
Doily<br />
Paint ( I used watercolors)<br />
Craft glue (permanent is best that dries clear)<br />
<br />
<br />
If you are going to crochet your own doily I recommend doing that as your first step so you know what size canvas you will need. Be Sure To Block it!<br />
<br />
Here you can get creative with color(s) as your background. While I only used one color you can use as many as you like! As a gift you can personalize it to your recipient's favorite color. <br />
<br />
All I did was mix up some watercolors and dipped a paper towel and wiped it across the canvas to cover the front and side edges. It DOES NOT have to be perfect. With the red one and teal doily I I didn't mix the paint perfectly so I picked up thick pieces of paint which showed up darker in some areas for a artsy look.<br />
<br />
Let the paint dry completely. <br />
<br />
Once the paint has dried, squirt some glue in the center of the canvas and with a foam paint brush distribute it gently across the canvas and as evenly as possible.<br />
<br />
Take your doily and gently press it in the center of the canvas on top of the glue trying to make sure you get glue on every part of the doily and try not to get paint on the front of the doily. Even though the paint has dried the glue will most likely re-wet it and it may get on your fingers. <br />
<br />
This was a learning process with me. The first one I did I tried painting the glue over the doily and let's just say the doily is no longer solid teal.<br />
<br />
Let the glue dry and its ready to hang on a wall!<br />
<br />
This isn't just for doilies either. I used a small 6x6 canvas and placed a snowflake on it for some fun holiday decor! <br />
<br />
If you check out my Craftsy Craftlet over to the right, you will notice I have a love for crocheted lace and if you're like me you probably end up with lots of pretty little gauge swatches that you dont know what to do with. Well now you do! I haven't made use of them yet but I imagine it will make a pretty little piece of wall art so no bit of yarn gets left behind! <br />
<br />
<br />
Happy Hooking Holidays!!<br />

Im almost done with my husband's jacket and trying to get this skirt design finished.
A friend of mine recently started this charity called Miles of Smiles visit and like their page here--->https://www.facebook.com/milesofsmilesdfw
These two amazing ladies are driving around and helping out our fellow homeless. Not only are they giving them things they may need, but they are stopping to have conversations with them and learn about their stories when most people would just pass them by. Of course in this day and age that is what most of us do.
They are currently trying to collect funds to buy Christmas presents, so of course I chimed in "I can make hats!" With all my oddball skeins of yarn that match nothing or I don't know what to do with, I finally have found some good use for them!! Once I have a pile of hats finished I will be putting up pictures and hopefully they will lift the spirits of those less fortunate than myself. I may be a stay-at-home-mom on a budget but I can definitely spend some time that God gives me to help someone with the gifts that I am supplied with!
Please feel free to follow the page above and share and donate if you can, any way you can!
GOD BLESS AND HAPPY HOOKING!!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjijNmSha8Mz8LdfDGQCmnJG-fZFhmeMQtAWL5-7JOAI54QytjfRDyW8T-voV_W4WKcroEksI6fYGuokHDUkgrwBLwT7N62nkr1c-SdKLVnVGXC8NDTbd0hvKwvNAOpG6SS2YdgL0Dq-Rc/s1600/20131031_085152.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjijNmSha8Mz8LdfDGQCmnJG-fZFhmeMQtAWL5-7JOAI54QytjfRDyW8T-voV_W4WKcroEksI6fYGuokHDUkgrwBLwT7N62nkr1c-SdKLVnVGXC8NDTbd0hvKwvNAOpG6SS2YdgL0Dq-Rc/s640/20131031_085152.jpg"> </a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjic1FJi-TjVjrwpuR2_YjWAOWgZyyAFFUpl0cv8_pyVkpM_LLQ0UKifG104hjM1U8A6-lKsEc4ikSVXrG8p4CGhMwCYZ8jrcFJoXjUJ1hd85Zgi7R8-jQTV7y7kC0M1A29zgG8TWgcXtY/s1600/20131026_133245.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjic1FJi-TjVjrwpuR2_YjWAOWgZyyAFFUpl0cv8_pyVkpM_LLQ0UKifG104hjM1U8A6-lKsEc4ikSVXrG8p4CGhMwCYZ8jrcFJoXjUJ1hd85Zgi7R8-jQTV7y7kC0M1A29zgG8TWgcXtY/s640/20131026_133245.jpg"> </a> </div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15557616748753607847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984467257881905126.post-879380167917710012013-10-22T08:59:00.002-07:002013-10-22T08:59:26.106-07:00Convertible Crochet<div><a href='http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/accessory/ice-queen-convertible-shrugscarf/73499' target='_blank'><img src='//djiqd110ru30i.cloudfront.net/upload/1529039/pattern/73499/full_7029_73499_IceQueenconvertibleshrugscarf_1.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='400'/></a></div><div><p style='font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;'>Source: <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/accessory/ice-queen-convertible-shrugscarf/73499'>Ice Queen convertible shrug/scarf</a> via <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='/user/1529039/pattern-store' target='_blank'>Brandi Isham</a> on <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='http://www.craftsy.com' target='_blank'>Craftsy</a></p></div>
you dont really see too many convertible crocheted garments out there but I love the idea! This one isn't new ( scarf-shrug) but I couldn't resist making one!!

<div><a href='http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/clothing/hippie-hippie-hippie/63221' target='_blank'><img src='http://djiqd110ru30i.cloudfront.net/upload/1529039/pattern/63221/full_1275_63221_HippieHippieHippie_1.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='400'/></a></div><div><p style='font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;'>Source: <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/clothing/hippie-hippie-hippie/63221'>Hippie, Hippie, Hippie!</a> via <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='http://www.craftsy.com/user/1529039/pattern-store' target='_blank'>Brandi Isham</a> on <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='http://www.craftsy.com' target='_blank'>Craftsy</a></p></div>
A fab strapless summer dress, slide it down to your waist and you have a long skirt that is cool-weather worthy with warm leggings underneath. Being in unpredictable Texas weather can make it difficult to decide on what is weather-appropriate But a lot of my designs are great for layering which is why most of my garments are styled for summer. I have a love for lace and thread, so there are times I would much rather not acknowledge its getting cooler and don my summer-wear! However, just days ago a cold front blew through all this miserable heat and while its far from cold enough to wear scarves and hats for functionality, it is finally that time when I can think of new quick designs and show them off on my very few outings. :)
Right now I'm working on a cowl and hopefully my oddball skeins of yarn I've had no idea what to do with will be made useful finally!
Of course the Texas girl in me wants to pretend its still hot and work on a summer dress in gorgeous thread. Aaah.....

"Unfinished Objects"
In my case it should be "unfinished designs". Lord knows I have a collection of them. What can I say? Im a crochet flake! I have yarn ADD! Amazingly enough Im devoting myself to make my entire family jackets. If the stitch or color isn't constantly changing, I lose interest. Which is perhaps why I've only finished one blanket.
On another note, my Gamer Jacket has gotten over 1300 downloads, and I am looking forward to seeing lots of final results!!
I have two design requests which I am looking forward to tremendously. One is a sweater and another a gorgeous dress in thread. (my favorite thing to work with)
So stay tuned and Happy Hooking! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP9d0yxcxoO7Gwx54JxdXZg5ZNhAy-KfleIYbf-u_73ZaGHpviONrxiJ6Uw73p412Zuod6oLMeTA5WsiDEc0VcA7_VG_aAQfP0e3opDFtlqcilE0bNvYqYyHYx2nG1zqts7LH9zFB0ojM/s1600/20131005_113051_20131005113334238.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP9d0yxcxoO7Gwx54JxdXZg5ZNhAy-KfleIYbf-u_73ZaGHpviONrxiJ6Uw73p412Zuod6oLMeTA5WsiDEc0VcA7_VG_aAQfP0e3opDFtlqcilE0bNvYqYyHYx2nG1zqts7LH9zFB0ojM/s640/20131005_113051_20131005113334238.jpg"> </a> </div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15557616748753607847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984467257881905126.post-60029612373012221762013-10-03T20:05:00.002-07:002013-10-03T20:05:49.569-07:00Free Pattern! <div><a href='http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/clothing/gamer-jacket/71348' target='_blank'><img src='//djiqd110ru30i.cloudfront.net/upload/1529039/pattern/71348/full_2392_71348_GamerJacket_1.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='400'/></a></div><div><p style='font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;'>Source: <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/clothing/gamer-jacket/71348'>Gamer Jacket</a> via <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='/user/1529039/pattern-store' target='_blank'>Brandi Isham</a> on <a style='text-decoration: underline; font-size: 11px; color: #7a7a7a;' href='http://www.craftsy.com' target='_blank'>Craftsy</a></p></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15557616748753607847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984467257881905126.post-32444394503440303032013-10-02T07:37:00.001-07:002013-10-02T11:38:09.884-07:00Jacket ProgressI've been working diligently on this pattern and am typing it out as I work on my daughter's. But this is surprisingly simple and quick so as soon as I do A LOT of pattern grading I will be putting this up ;)<br />
My gamer husband inspired me to make this! There are the neatest costumes in video games, and Assassins Creed seems to take the cake with me. Let's face it, people cant publicly appear in those tiny, skimpy clothes from those silly anime games. ( which I happen to love!) However my family will be decked out in Assassins Creed attire! As soon as it cools off in this texas heat I will be wearing this jacket every where!! <br />
